Originally from Kaneohe, a small town on the northeast coast of O’ahu, David Foy is a Director of Photography based in Brooklyn, NY. David’s approach as a DP is measured, uncomplicated, and above all else, deeply empathetic. His debut feature film, Waiting for the Light to Change won the Narrative Feature Grand Jury Award at the 29th Slamdance Film Festival in early 2023. It has since been theatrically and virtually released by independent film distributor Freestyle Digital Media. It was featured in Esquires “The 65 Best Movies of 2023” list. His follow up feature film, Behind The Eight-Ball, shot in Chicago, wrapped production in early spring of this year. Its expected release is late 2025/early 2026.
